1983 United States Grand Prix West

The United States Grand Prix West 1983 was the 2nd round of the 1983 F1 season, and took place at the Long Beach in California, USA, on March 27th.

John Watson won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 22nd position of the grid, followed by Niki Lauda, and René Arnoux completing the podium.

Patrick Tambay started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and had to retire on lap 25th.
