The United States Grand Prix West 1978 was the 4th round of the 1978 F1 season, and took place at the Long Beach in California, USA, on April 2nd.

Carlos Reutemann won the race from the pole, followed by Mario Andretti, and Patrick Depailler completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 12th position of the grid.
