The United States Grand Prix 1989 was the 5th round of the 1989 F1 season, and took place at the Phoenix street circuit in Phoenix, USA, on June 4th.
Alain Prost won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Riccardo Patrese, and Eddie Cheever completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 17th position of the grid.
Ayrton Senna started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered from electrical problems, and had to retire on lap 44th.
