1978 United States Grand Prix

The United States Grand Prix 1978 was the 15th round of the 1978 F1 season, and took place at the Watkins Glen in New York State, USA, on October 1st.

Carlos Reutemann won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Alan Jones, and Jody Scheckter completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 11th position of the grid.

Mario Andretti started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 27th.
