The United States Grand Prix 1964 was the 9th round of the 1964 F1 season, and took place at the Watkins Glen in New York State, USA, on October 4th.

Graham Hill won the race after starting in the 4th position, followed by John Surtees, and Jo Siffert completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 12th position of the grid.

Jim Clark started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 7th.

These included, Jim Clark, who run out of fuel on lap 102, Mike Hailwood, who had problems with the oil pipe on lap 101, Dan Gurney, who suffered a loss in oil pressure on lap 69, Hap Sharp, who did not classify on lap 65, Lorenzo Bandini, Chris Amon, Bruce McLaren, and Jack Brabham, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Mike Spence, and Jim Clark, both had an problem with the injection, Ronnie Bucknum, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 50, Jo Bonnier, who had a wheel problem on lap 37, Phil Hill, who had issues with the ignition on lap 4, and Innes Ireland, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 2.
