The Spanish Grand Prix 1994 was the 5th round of the 1994 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain, on May 29th.

Damon Hill won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Michael Schumacher, who originally had the pole position, and Mark Blundell completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 11th position of the grid.

The reace did not end without incidents... 18 drivers out of the original 27 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Martin Brundle, who had a transmission problem on lap 59, Jyrki Järvilehto, Mika Häkkinen, Christian Fittipaldi, Ukyo Katayama, Michele Alboreto, and Olivier Beretta, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Johnny Herbert, Rubens Barrichello, and Paul Belmondo, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, David Coulthard, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 32, Bertrand Gachot, who took damage to the wing of the car on lap 32, Gerhard Berger, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Gianni Morbidelli, who had a fuel system failure on lap 24, Érik Comas, who had a problem with the radiator of the car on lap 19, and Andrea Montermini, who was injured on lap 0.
