1988 Spanish Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix 1988 was the 14th round of the 1988 F1 season, and took place at the Circuito de Jerez in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, on October 2nd.

Alain Prost won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Nigel Mansell, and Alessandro Nannini completing the podium.

Ayrton Senna started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 4th.

These included, Stefan Johansson, who had a wheel problem on lap 62, Eddie Cheever, Derek Warwick, and Jonathan Palmer, all of whom experienced problems with the chassis of the car, Ivan Capelli, Andrea de Cesaris, Philippe Streiff, and Michele Alboreto, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Pierluigi Martini, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 15, Satoru Nakajima, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 14, Nicola Larini, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 9, René Arnoux, who had a throttle issue on lap 0, and Gabriele Tarquini, who did not prequalify on lap 0.
