These included, Olivier Grouillard, Gianni Morbidelli, Andrea de Cesaris, Jean Alesi, Ivan Capelli, and Gabriele Tarquini, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Thierry Boutsen, who had a fuel system failure on lap 60, Pierluigi Martini, and Martin Brundle, both had a problem with the clutch, Jyrki Järvilehto, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 44, Christian Fittipaldi, who had a problem with the alternator on lap 43, Karl Wendlinger, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 13, and Bertrand Gachot, who had issues with the steering of the car on lap 8.
