1984 South African Grand Prix

The South African Grand Prix 1984 was the 2nd round of the 1984 F1 season, and took place at the Kyalami in Midrand, South Africa, on April 7th.

Niki Lauda won the race after starting in the 8th position, followed by Alain Prost, and Derek Warwick completing the podium.

Nelson Piquet started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a turbo failure, and had to retire on lap 29th.
