1983 South African Grand Prix

The South African Grand Prix 1983 was the 15th round of the 1983 F1 season, and took place at the Kyalami in Midrand, South Africa, on October 15th.

Riccardo Patrese won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Andrea de Cesaris, and Nelson Piquet completing the podium.

Patrick Tambay started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a turbo failure, and had to retire on lap 56th.
