The South African Grand Prix 1977 was the 3rd round of the 1977 F1 season, and took place at the Kyalami in Midrand, South Africa, on March 5th.

Niki Lauda won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Jody Scheckter, and Patrick Depailler completing the podium.

James Hunt started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 4th.
