1992 Portuguese Grand Prix

The Portuguese Grand Prix 1992 was the 14th round of the 1992 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo do Estoril in Estoril, Portugal, on September 27th.

Nigel Mansell won the race from the pole, followed by Gerhard Berger, and Ayrton Senna completing the podium.

The reace did not end without incidents... 12 drivers out of the original 26 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Jyrki Järvilehto, who had physical problems on lap 51, Karl Wendlinger, and Olivier Grouillard, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Érik Comas, Ivan Capelli, and Bertrand Gachot, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Ukyo Katayama, and Jean Alesi, both lost control and spun off the track, Riccardo Patrese, who retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars on lap 43, Pierluigi Martini, who had a puncture that could not be repaired on lap 43, Maurício Gugelmin, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 19, and Johnny Herbert, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 2.
