David Coulthard won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Rubens Barrichello, and Giancarlo Fisichella completing the podium.

Michael Schumacher started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered a suspension problem, and had to retire on lap 55th.
