The Monaco Grand Prix 1996 was the 6th round of the 1996 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, on May 19th.

Olivier Panis won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid, followed by David Coulthard, and Johnny Herbert completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 13th position of the grid.

Michael Schumacher started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he lost control and spun off the track, and had to retire on lap 0th.

These included, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who withdrew on lap 74, Mika Salo, Mika Häkkinen, Eddie Irvine, Jacques Villeneuve, Luca Badoer, Pedro Lamy, and Giancarlo Fisichella, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Jean Alesi, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 60, Damon Hill, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 40, Martin Brundle, Ricardo Rosset, Ukyo Katayama, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, and Jos Verstappen, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Gerhard Berger, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 9, Pedro Diniz, who had a transmission problem on lap 5, and Andrea Montermini, who was injured on lap 0.
