These included, Luca Badoer, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 68, Olivier Panis, Jean Alesi, Martin Brundle, Ukyo Katayama, and Eddie Irvine, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Mika Salo, Bertrand Gachot, Taki Inoue, David Coulthard, and Jos Verstappen, all of whom experienced issues with the gearbox, Rubens Barrichello, who had a throttle issue on lap 60, Roberto Moreno, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 9, Mika Häkkinen, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 8, and Domenico Schiattarella, who withdrew on lap 0.
