1984 Monaco Grand Prix

The Monaco Grand Prix 1984 was the 6th round of the 1984 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, on June 3rd.

Alain Prost won the race from the pole, followed by Ayrton Senna, and René Arnoux completing the podium.

Incidents

The reace did not end without incidents... 12 drivers out of the original 27 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Riccardo Patrese, who had issues with the steering of the car on lap 24, Niki Lauda, Manfred Winkelhock, Nigel Mansell, and Johnny Cecotto, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Nelson Piquet, François Hesnault, and Corrado Fabi, all of whom suffered from electrical problems, Derek Warwick, and Patrick Tambay, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and Andrea de Cesaris, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 0.

There was also action outise of the track itself, and the stwearts decided to disqualify Stefan Bellof.
