1990 Mexican Grand Prix

The Mexican Grand Prix 1990 was the 6th round of the 1990 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico, on June 24th.

Alain Prost won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 13th position of the grid, followed by Nigel Mansell, and Gerhard Berger, who originally had the pole position, completing the podium.

Incidents

The reace did not end without incidents... 14 drivers out of the original 35 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Ayrton Senna, who experienced issues with a tyre on lap 63, Jyrki Järvilehto, and Emanuele Pirro, both suffered an engine malfunction, Éric Bernard, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 12, Aguri Suzuki, and Satoru Nakajima, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, David Brabham, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 11, and Yannick Dalmas, Gabriele Tarquini, Bertrand Gachot, Claudio Langes, and Bruno Giacomelli, all of whom did not prequalify.

There was also action outise of the track itself, and the stwearts decided to disqualify Roberto Moreno at the end of the race.
