The Mexican Grand Prix 1989 was the 4th round of the 1989 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico, on May 28th.

Ayrton Senna won the race from the pole, followed by Riccardo Patrese, and Michele Alboreto completing the podium.

These included, Pierluigi Martini, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 53, Nigel Mansell, and Gerhard Berger, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Derek Warwick, and Thierry Boutsen, both suffered from electrical problems, Satoru Nakajima, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 35, Philippe Alliot, who did not classify on lap 28, Andrea de Cesaris, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 20, Stefan Johansson, and Ivan Capelli, both had a transmission problem, Jonathan Palmer, who had a throttle issue on lap 9, and Bertrand Gachot, Gregor Foitek, Nicola Larini, Volker Weidler, Bernd Schneider, Aguri Suzuki, Piercarlo Ghinzani, Joachim Winkelhock, and Pierre-Henri Raphanel, all of whom did not prequalify.
