1968 Mexican Grand Prix

The Mexican Grand Prix 1968 was the 12th round of the 1968 F1 season, and took place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico, on November 3rd.

Graham Hill won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Bruce McLaren, and Jackie Oliver completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

Jo Siffert started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 6th.

The reace did not end without incidents... 12 drivers out of the original 21 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Jack Brabham, who suffered a loss in oil pressure on lap 59, Johnny Servoz-Gavin, Jacky Ickx, and Jochen Rindt, all of whom had issues with the ignition, Dan Gurney, Denny Hulme, and Jean-Pierre Beltoise, all of whom suffered a suspension problem, Piers Courage, and Lucien Bianchi, both suffered an engine malfunction, John Surtees, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 17, Chris Amon, who had a transmission problem on lap 16, and Moisés Solana, who took damage to the wing of the car on lap 14.
