1997 Luxembourg Grand Prix

The Luxembourg Grand Prix 1997 was the 15th round of the 1997 F1 season, and took place at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany, on September 28th.

Jacques Villeneuve won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Jean Alesi, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen completing the podium.

Mika Häkkinen started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 43rd.

These included, Jos Verstappen, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 50, Mika Häkkinen, David Coulthard, Eddie Irvine, Shinji Nakano, and Tarso Marques, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Rubens Barrichello, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 43, Jan Magnussen, who had problems with the halfshaft on lap 40, Michael Schumacher, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 2, and Ukyo Katayama, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Ralf Schumacher, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars.
