The Japanese Grand Prix 1987 was the 15th round of the 1987 F1 season, and took place at the Suzuka Circuit in Suzuka, Japan, on November 1st.

Gerhard Berger won the race from the pole, followed by Ayrton Senna, and Stefan Johansson completing the podium.

These included, Eddie Cheever, René Arnoux, and Alex Caffi, all of whom run out of fuel, Nelson Piquet, Alessandro Nannini, Martin Brundle, Andrea de Cesaris, Teo Fabi, Christian Danner, and Adrián Campos, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Roberto Moreno, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 38, and Ivan Capelli, Philippe Alliot, and Nigel Mansell, all of whom had to retire due to an accident.
