1999 Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix 1999 was the 13th round of the 1999 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 12th.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Ralf Schumacher, and Mika Salo completing the podium.

Mika Häkkinen started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he lost control and spun off the track, and had to retire on lap 29th.

These included, Olivier Panis, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 52, Johnny Herbert, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 40, Toranosuke Takagi, Mika Häkkinen, Pedro Diniz, and Giancarlo Fisichella, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Pedro de la Rosa, who withdrew on lap 35, Jarno Trulli, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 29, Ricardo Zonta, who had a problem witht he wheel bearing on lap 25, Luca Badoer, and Marc Gené, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and Alexander Wurz, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 11.
