The Italian Grand Prix 1986 was the 13th round of the 1986 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 7th.

Nelson Piquet won the race after starting in the 6th position, followed by Nigel Mansell, and Stefan Johansson completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 12th position of the grid.

Teo Fabi started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a puncture that could not be repaired, and had to retire on lap 44th.
