1984 Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix 1984 was the 14th round of the 1984 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 9th.

Niki Lauda won the race after starting in the 4th position, followed by Michele Alboreto, and Riccardo Patrese completing the podium.

Nelson Piquet started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 15th.

These included, Piercarlo Ghinzani, and Eddie Cheever, both run out of fuel, Patrick Tambay, who had a throttle issue on lap 43, Teo Fabi, Marc Surer, Nelson Piquet, Andrea de Cesaris, and Alain Prost, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Derek Warwick, and Jonathan Palmer, both suffered a loss in oil pressure, Elio de Angelis, and René Arnoux, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Nigel Mansell, and François Hesnault, both lost control and spun off the track, Jacques Laffite, and Keke Rosberg, both had a turbo failure, Philippe Alliot, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 6, and Manfred Winkelhock, who withdrew on lap 0.
