1974 Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix 1974 was the 13th round of the 1974 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 8th.

Ronnie Peterson won the race after starting in the 7th position, followed by Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jody Scheckter completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 12th position of the grid.

Niki Lauda started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 32nd.

These included, Clay Regazzoni, Niki Lauda, Jacques Laffite, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Henri Pescarolo, and James Hunt, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Jacky Ickx, who had a throttle issue on lap 30, Rolf Stommelen, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 25, Vittorio Brambilla, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 16, Tim Schenken, Carlos Reutemann, and François Migault, all of whom experienced issues with the gearbox, Hans-Joachim Stuck, who experienced problems with the chassis of the car on lap 11, and Jean-Pierre Beltoise, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 0.
