1970 Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix 1970 was the 10th round of the 1970 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 6th.

Clay Regazzoni won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Jackie Stewart, and Jean-Pierre Beltoise completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid.

Jacky Ickx started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a problem with the clutch, and had to retire on lap 25th.

These included, Peter Gethin, who did not classify on lap 60, Jackie Oliver, Ronnie Peterson, Tim Schenken, Henri Pescarolo, Pedro Rodríguez, and Jo Siffert, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Jack Brabham, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 31, Jacky Ickx, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 25, George Eaton, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 21, Ignazio Giunti, who had a fuel system failure on lap 14, John Surtees, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 0, Graham Hill, John Miles, and Emerson Fittipaldi, all of whom withdrew, and Jochen Rindt, who had the fatal accident all know about and will never forget on lap 0.
