1958 Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix 1958 was the 10th round of the 1958 F1 season, and took place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza, Italy, on September 7th.

Tony Brooks won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Mike Hawthorn, and Phil Hill completing the podium.

Stirling Moss started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he experienced issues with the gearbox, and had to retire on lap 17th.

These included, Maria de Filippis, Giulio Cabianca, and Hans Herrmann, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Jean Behra, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 42, Stuart Lewis-Evans, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 30, Maurice Trintignant, and Stirling Moss, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Jo Bonnier, who had a transmission problem on lap 14, Olivier Gendebien, and Jack Brabham, both suffered a suspension problem, Gerino Gerini, Wolfgang von Trips, and Harry Schell, all of whom had to retire due to an accident, and Carroll Shelby, who on lap 1.
