The Indianapolis 500 1957 was the 3rd round of the 1957 F1 season, and took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, USA, on May 30th.

Sam Hanks won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 13th position of the grid, followed by Jim Rathmann, and Jimmy Bryan completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 15th position of the grid.

Pat O'Connor started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 8th.
