The Indianapolis 500 1956 was the 3rd round of the 1956 F1 season, and took place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, USA, on May 30th.

Pat Flaherty won the race from the pole, followed by Sam Hanks, and Don Freeland completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 26th position of the grid.
