1997 Hungarian Grand Prix

The Hungarian Grand Prix 1997 was the 11th round of the 1997 F1 season, and took place at the Hungaroring in Budapest, Hungary, on August 10th.

Jacques Villeneuve won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Damon Hill, and Johnny Herbert completing the podium.

Michael Schumacher started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 4th.

These included, Eddie Irvine, and Giancarlo Fisichella, both lost control and spun off the track, David Coulthard, and Pedro Diniz, both suffered from electrical problems, Jos Verstappen, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 61, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who had fuel related problems on lap 29, Rubens Barrichello, and Gianni Morbidelli, both suffered an engine malfunction, Mika Häkkinen, who experienced an hydraulic malfunction on lap 12, and Jan Magnussen, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 5.
