Damon Hill won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Riccardo Patrese, and Gerhard Berger completing the podium.

These included, Pierluigi Martini, and Rubens Barrichello, both had to retire due to an accident, Érik Comas, and Jyrki Järvilehto, both suffered an engine malfunction, Alessandro Zanardi, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 45, Aguri Suzuki, Johnny Herbert, Luca Badoer, and Jean Alesi, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Michele Alboreto, who suffered from an overall car overhating on lap 39, Michael Schumacher, who had a fuel pump failure on lap 26, Christian Fittipaldi, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 22, and Ayrton Senna, and Michael Andretti, both had a throttle issue.
