1986 Hungarian Grand Prix

The Hungarian Grand Prix 1986 was the 11th round of the 1986 F1 season, and took place at the Hungaroring in Budapest, Hungary, on August 10th.

Nelson Piquet won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Ayrton Senna, who originally had the pole position, and Nigel Mansell completing the podium.

The reace did not end without incidents... 17 drivers out of the original 26 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, René Arnoux, Alessandro Nannini, and Andrea de Cesaris, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Alan Jones, who had a problem with the differential on lap 46, Gerhard Berger, and Teo Fabi, both had a transmission problem, Thierry Boutsen, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 40, Keke Rosberg, Piercarlo Ghinzani, and Christian Danner, all of whom suffered a suspension problem, Michele Alboreto, Derek Warwick, and Alain Prost, all of whom had to retire due to an accident, Riccardo Patrese, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 5, Huub Rothengatter, who had a problem with the radiator of the car on lap 2, and Allen Berg, who had a turbo failure on lap 1.
