1999 German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix 1999 was the 10th round of the 1999 F1 season, and took place at the Hockenheimring in Hockenheim, Germany, on August 1st.

Eddie Irvine won the race after starting in the 5th position, followed by Mika Salo, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen completing the podium.

Mika Häkkinen started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he experienced issues with a tyre, and had to retire on lap 25th.

These included, Johnny Herbert, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 40, Pedro de la Rosa, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 37, Mika Häkkinen, who experienced issues with a tyre on lap 25, Alessandro Zanardi, who had a problem with the differential on lap 21, Ricardo Zonta, Toranosuke Takagi, and Jarno Trulli, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Damon Hill, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 13, Giancarlo Fisichella, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 7, Rubens Barrichello, who experienced an hydraulic malfunction on lap 6, and Jacques Villeneuve, and Pedro Diniz, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars.
