1987 German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix 1987 was the 8th round of the 1987 F1 season, and took place at the Hockenheimring in Hockenheim, Germany, on July 26th.

Nelson Piquet won the race after starting in the 4th position, followed by Stefan Johansson, and Ayrton Senna completing the podium.

Nigel Mansell started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 25th.

These included, Alain Prost, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 39, Martin Brundle, who did not classify on lap 34, Piercarlo Ghinzani, Adrián Campos, Thierry Boutsen, Nigel Mansell, Alessandro Nannini, Teo Fabi, Alex Caffi, Andrea de Cesaris, Pascal Fabre, and Ivan Capelli, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Derek Warwick, Gerhard Berger, Michele Alboreto, and Satoru Nakajima, all of whom had a turbo failure, Christian Danner, who had problems with the halfshaft on lap 21, Eddie Cheever, who had a throttle issue on lap 9, and René Arnoux, and Riccardo Patrese, both had issues with the ignition.
