1985 German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix 1985 was the 9th round of the 1985 F1 season, and took place at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany, on August 4th.

Michele Alboreto won the race after starting in the 8th position, followed by Alain Prost, and Jacques Laffite completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 13th position of the grid.

Teo Fabi started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had a problem with the clutch, and had to retire on lap 29th.

These included, Pierluigi Martini, Elio de Angelis, Marc Surer, and Manfred Winkelhock, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Keke Rosberg, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 61, Eddie Cheever, and Nelson Piquet, both had a turbo failure, Huub Rothengatter, and Riccardo Patrese, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Teo Fabi, and François Hesnault, both had a problem with the clutch, Ayrton Senna, who had a problem with the CV joint on lap 27, Derek Warwick, who had issues with the ignition on lap 25, Patrick Tambay, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 19, Philippe Alliot, who suffered a loss in oil pressure on lap 8, Jonathan Palmer, who had a problem with the alternator on lap 7, and Andrea de Cesaris, who retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars on lap 0.
