1979 German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix 1979 was the 10th round of the 1979 F1 season, and took place at the Hockenheimring in Hockenheim, Germany, on July 29th.

Alan Jones won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Clay Regazzoni, and Jacques Laffite completing the podium.

Jean-Pierre Jabouille started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he lost control and spun off the track, and had to retire on lap 7th.

These included, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg, and Niki Lauda, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Riccardo Patrese, Jacky Ickx, and René Arnoux, all of whom experienced issues with a tyre, Patrick Tambay, and Hans-Joachim Stuck, both suffered a suspension problem, Hector Rebaque, who on lap 22, Mario Andretti, who had a transmission problem on lap 16, Jean-Pierre Jabouille, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 7, Emerson Fittipaldi, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 4, and Carlos Reutemann, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 1.
