The French Grand Prix 1953 was the 5th round of the 1953 F1 season, and took place at the Reims-Gueux in Reims, France, on July 5th.

Mike Hawthorn won the race after starting in the 7th position, followed by Juan Fangio, and José Froilán González completing the podium.

Alberto Ascari started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 4th.
