The European Grand Prix 2003 was the 9th round of the 2003 F1 season, and took place at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany, on June 29th.
Ralf Schumacher won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Juan Pablo Montoya, and Rubens Barrichello completing the podium.
Kimi Räikkönen started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered an engine malfunction, and had to retire on lap 25th.

Qualifying
From 1996 to 2002 the grid order was decided in a single qualifying session which would last 1 hour. During this time each driver had a maximun of 12 laps to set their best time.
This time around, Kimi Räikkönen managed to secure the pole position with a time of 1:31.523 seconds, 0.032 seconds faster than Michael Schumacher, who completed the first line of the grid.
