The European Grand Prix 1999 was the 14th round of the 1999 F1 season, and took place at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany, on September 26th.

Johnny Herbert won the race with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 14th position of the grid, followed by Jarno Trulli, and Rubens Barrichello completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 15th position of the grid.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered from electrical problems, and had to retire on lap 32nd.

These included, Jacques Villeneuve, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 61, Luca Badoer, and Pedro de la Rosa, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Giancarlo Fisichella, Toranosuke Takagi, and David Coulthard, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Mika Salo, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 44, Jean Alesi, who had problems with the halfshaft on lap 35, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, and Damon Hill, both suffered from electrical problems, and Alessandro Zanardi, Alexander Wurz, and Pedro Diniz, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars.
