1979 Dutch Grand Prix

The Dutch Grand Prix 1979 was the 12th round of the 1979 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in Zandvoort, Netherlands, on August 26th.

Alan Jones won the race after starting in the 2nd position, followed by Jody Scheckter, and Jacques Laffite completing the podium.

René Arnoux started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered a suspension problem, and had to retire on lap 1st.

These included, Didier Pironi, Mario Andretti, Carlos Reutemann, and René Arnoux, all of whom suffered a suspension problem, Gilles Villeneuve, who experienced issues with a tyre on lap 49, Elio de Angelis, and Hans-Joachim Stuck, both had a transmission problem, Keke Rosberg, John Watson, and Patrick Tambay, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Jean-Pierre Jabouille, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 26, Jean-Pierre Jarier, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 20, Jan Lammers, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 12, Riccardo Patrese, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 7, Niki Lauda, who withdrew on lap 4, Emerson Fittipaldi, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 2, and Clay Regazzoni, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 0.
