These included, Denny Hulme, who had issues with the ignition on lap 65, François Migault, Arturo Merzario, Jean-Pierre Beltoise, and Graham Hill, all of whom experienced issues with the gearbox, Guy Edwards, who had a fuel system failure on lap 36, Jean-Pierre Jarier, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 28, Henri Pescarolo, who on lap 15, Jochen Mass, who had a transmission problem on lap 8, James Hunt, and Tom Pryce, both retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and Hans-Joachim Stuck, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 0.
