The Canadian Grand Prix 2005 was the 8th round of the 2005 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, on June 12th.
Kimi Räikkönen won the race after starting in the 7th position, followed by Michael Schumacher, and Rubens Barrichello completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 20th position of the grid.
Jenson Button started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he had to retire due to an accident, and had to retire on lap 46th.

After the fiasco of the two one-lap sessions that the F1 had envisioned for the 2005 seasosn, and that they decided to drop after just 6 races, the rest of the season's qualifyings were disputed on a single on-lap format, as it happened in this race.
This time around, Jenson Button managed to secure the pole position with a time of 1:15.217 seconds, 0.258 seconds faster than Michael Schumacher, who completed the first line of the grid.
