These included, Martin Brundle, Gerhard Berger, Johnny Herbert, and Mika Häkkinen, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, Pierluigi Martini, who had a throttle issue on lap 60, Roberto Moreno, who had a fuel system failure on lap 54, Damon Hill, Pedro Diniz, and Andrea Montermini, all of whom experienced issues with the gearbox, Mark Blundell, Ukyo Katayama, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Bertrand Gachot, who had a battery failure on lap 36, and Jean-Christophe Boullion, and David Coulthard, both lost control and spun off the track.
