1992 Canadian Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix 1992 was the 7th round of the 1992 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, on June 14th.

Gerhard Berger won the race after starting in the 4th position, followed by Michael Schumacher, and Jean Alesi completing the podium.

Ayrton Senna started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered from electrical problems, and had to retire on lap 37th.

Incidents

The reace did not end without incidents... 15 drivers out of the original 31 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Ukyo Katayama, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 61, Martin Brundle, Stefano Modena, Maurício Gugelmin, and Gabriele Tarquini, all of whom had a transmission problem, Riccardo Patrese, and Mika Häkkinen, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Ayrton Senna, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 37, Johnny Herbert, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 34, Ivan Capelli, and Nigel Mansell, both lost control and spun off the track, and Roberto Moreno, who did not prequalify on lap 0.

There was also action outise of the track itself, and the stwearts decided to disqualify Bertrand Gachot.
