The Canadian Grand Prix 1990 was the 5th round of the 1990 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, on June 10th.

Ayrton Senna won the race from the pole, followed by Nelson Piquet, and Nigel Mansell completing the podium.

The reace did not end without incidents... 20 drivers out of the original 35 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Martin Donnelly, Gregor Foitek, Jyrki Järvilehto, and Philippe Alliot, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Andrea de Cesaris, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 50, Riccardo Patrese, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 44, Jean Alesi, Alessandro Nannini, and Pierluigi Martini, all of whom lost control and spun off the track, Thierry Boutsen, Nicola Larini, Emanuele Pirro, and Michele Alboreto, all of whom retired dure to damage caused by a collision with other cars, and Gabriele Tarquini, Yannick Dalmas, Bertrand Gachot, Claudio Langes, and Bruno Giacomelli, all of whom did not prequalify.
