1984 Canadian Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix 1984 was the 7th round of the 1984 F1 season, and took place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, on June 17th.

Nelson Piquet won the race from the pole, followed by Niki Lauda, and Alain Prost completing the podium.

The reace did not end without incidents... 17 drivers out of the original 26 who started did not managed to cross the finish line.

These included, Eddie Cheever, who run out of fuel on lap 63, Marc Surer, Thierry Boutsen, and Michele Alboreto, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Derek Warwick, who experienced problems with the chassis of the car on lap 57, Huub Rothengatter, who did not classify on lap 56, Andrea de Cesaris, who saw the breaks of the car give up on lap 40, Corrado Fabi, Jacques Laffite, Mike Thackwell, and François Hesnault, all of whom had a turbo failure, Riccardo Patrese, who had to retire due to an accident on lap 37, Keke Rosberg, who had a fuel system failure on lap 32, and Piercarlo Ghinzani, who experienced issues with the gearbox on lap 11.

There was also action outise of the track itself, and the stwearts decided to disqualify 2 drivers.
