1977 Canadian Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix 1977 was the 16th round of the 1977 F1 season, and took place at the Mosport International Raceway in Ontario, Canada, on October 9th.

Jody Scheckter won the race after starting in the 9th position, followed by Patrick Depailler, and Jochen Mass completing the podium.

Mario Andretti started from the pole position, but only managed to finish 9th.

These included, Vittorio Brambilla, James Hunt, Rupert Keegan, Hans Binder, Gunnar Nilsson, and Clay Regazzoni, all of whom had to retire due to an accident, Mario Andretti, Brett Lunger, Patrick Nève, Ian Scheckter, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Hans-Joachim Stuck, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Riccardo Patrese, who lost control and spun off the track on lap 76, Gilles Villeneuve, and Jacques Laffite, both had a transmission problem, Ronnie Peterson, who had a fuel leak on lap 34, Carlos Reutemann, who had a fuel system failure on lap 20, John Watson, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 1, and Ian Ashley, who withdrew on lap 0.
