During the 2024 season the qualifying format was held entirely on Saturday, and was structured as follows:
- Drivers would compelte a single flying lap, in the order the clasified in the previous race.
- Following the order from that attempt, drivers would complete another single flying lap to decide the final grid order.
This time around, Kimi Räikkönen managed to secure the pole position with a time of 1:18.233 seconds, 0.072 seconds faster than Rubens Barrichello, who completed the first line of the grid.
