1985 British Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix 1985 was the 8th round of the 1985 F1 season, and took place at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, UK, on July 21st.

Alain Prost won the race after starting in the 3rd position, followed by Michele Alboreto, and Jacques Laffite completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 16th position of the grid.

Keke Rosberg started from the pole position, but didn't manage to cross the finish line, as he suffered from problems with the exhaust, and had to retire on lap 21st.

These included, Ayrton Senna, who had a fuel system failure on lap 60, Niki Lauda, who suffered from electrical problems on lap 57, Thierry Boutsen, and Patrick Tambay, both lost control and spun off the track, Andrea de Cesaris, and Nigel Mansell, both had a problem with the clutch, Pierluigi Martini, and Teo Fabi, both had a transmission problem, Elio de Angelis, who did not classify on lap 37, Manfred Winkelhock, and Eddie Cheever, both had a turbo failure, Keke Rosberg, who suffered from problems with the exhaust on lap 21, Jonathan Palmer, who suffered an engine malfunction on lap 6, and Stefan Johansson, Philippe Alliot, and Piercarlo Ghinzani, all of whom had to retire due to an accident.
