The British Grand Prix 1976 was the 9th round of the 1976 F1 season, and took place at the Brands Hatch in Kent, UK, on July 18th.

Niki Lauda won the race from the pole, followed by Jody Scheckter, and John Watson completing the podium with an expectacular comeback, all the way from the 11th position of the grid.

These included, Gunnar Nilsson, Patrick Depailler, and Arturo Merzario, all of whom suffered an engine malfunction, Ronnie Peterson, and Henri Pescarolo, both had a fuel system failure, Brett Lunger, and Bob Evans, both experienced issues with the gearbox, Carlos Reutemann, and Clay Regazzoni, both suffered a loss in oil pressure, Jacques Laffite, who suffered a suspension problem on lap 31, Vittorio Brambilla, Hans-Joachim Stuck, and Guy Edwards, all of whom had to retire due to an accident, Chris Amon, who suffered a water leak on lap 8, Mario Andretti, who had issues with the ignition on lap 4, and Jochen Mass, who had a problem with the clutch on lap 1.
